Jason Campbell | Assistant Coach

A lifelong resident of California, Jason started swimming competitively when he was five years old and continued through high school into his first (and only) year of competitive collegiate swimming at UCSD. He ran cross country and swam in high school and achieved what would now be considered first team all-league honors in both disciplines. He graduated from San Marcos High School in 1979 and attended UCSD from ’79 through the spring term of ’81. He swam his first year at UCSD as an all-around utility swimmer. He transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the fall of ’81 and eventually graduated with a BS in Architectural Engineering in the spring of ’84. He continued his education at UC Berkeley that fall and completed a Masters of Engineering in Structural Engineering and Structural Mechanics in ’86. He has been a consulting structural engineer ever since and is currently the sole proprietor of a small engineering firm in Oakland, Ca. He is married to Marcy Campbell and has two sons and two step-sons. His oldest son graduated from Cal’s School of Environmental Science last May (2015) and his younger son is currently a junior at Cal in the Haas School of Business.
